Our method is descriptive, not theatrical: preserve the claim, trace its provenance, test alternatives, state limitations, and revise in public.
Build the ledger
Prefer primary records. Label secondary reporting, testimony, user-generated material, and unknown provenance.
Compare explanations
Ask what each hypothesis predicts, what contradicts it, and what new evidence would change the assessment.
Evidence states
Supported means the cited evidence supports the narrowly worded claim. Challenged means credible evidence conflicts with it. Unsupported means the reviewed record does not establish it. Unresolved means material evidence points in more than one direction or is incomplete. These are descriptions of the record, not probability scores.
Source types
Primary sources include original documents, raw media with provenance, direct data, and on-record firsthand testimony. Secondary sources interpret or report on primary material. User-generated content can identify a lead or preserve a public statement, but cannot corroborate itself through repetition.
Connections
A connection is published only with a reason: shared incident, person, institution, place, date window, or source. Automated similarity is a candidate-generation tool. It is not causal evidence, and unrelated topical material must be excluded.
Images and media
Media must include an origin or source page where possible. A representative image is labeled as such and cannot be presented as incident evidence. Broken, mismatched, unattributed, or context-free media should not be used as a case hero.
AI use
Local AI may summarize, translate, extract entities, classify topic, suggest duplicates, or propose candidate connections. Models can invent citations, compress important distinctions, and reproduce source bias. AI output is never counted as evidence. Every published case names how AI assisted and records human review.
Publication gate
A published case requires a claim ledger, evidence records, sources, limitations, revision history, AI disclosure, and named human review. Drafts are not included in public indexes. Demonstrations may be public only when the warning is unmistakable and no finding is implied.
Corrections
Material changes receive a dated revision note. Titles or summaries that overstate the evidence are corrected in place with the reason preserved. New evidence can move a claim in either direction.
